The Review

Just Kim again!  A friend and I started out at the Peacock Lounge (Erte's bar) for happy hour - $2 off martinis!  We wound up staying for dinner.

First, the Peacock Lounge is one of my favorite happy hour spots.  The martinis are a mixture of classics and creatives, and they're always well executed.  The happy hour $2 discount brings them to $8 per drink, and they're worth it.  I promise. :)

The soup was tasty but with a touch of sweetness that slightly bothered me.  The filet was excellent.  They handled medium rare perfectly, which is sometimes touch-and-go - even at steakhouses.  It was tender and something I'd definitely get again.  The au gratin potatoes are like (as the waiter told us), lasagna with potatoes instead of pasta.  Oh, and without a red sauce.  They're layered with Gruyere and caramelized onions.  Lots and lots of butter too, so I'm happy that we split an order.  They're very rich, which is likely why I loved them so much. :)
